One thing a woman must realize is that there are really very few people who can boast of a perfect figure. Almost every one of us has flaws as well as positive that we would love to accentuate. So this summer, try to stop worrying about your body shape and just learn to choose the right swimsuit for your figure.

1. Visualize your figure with a new outlook and learn to start respecting it.

2. Now stand in front of the mirror and decide what body shape you have. Be brave and honest; whatever shape you are, there is a swimsuit designed for you.

3. Once you have established your shape, it's time to go shopping. Keep a good picture in your mind's eye of your shape and shop for it. There's a few things you should keep in mind in relation to your body shape:

*Short torso: If your upper body is smaller than your legs, then all you need is to look lithe. For that you must place the emphasis more on your bust and shoulders by wearing a halter-top, pairing it with low cut bikini bottoms. Long torso: to create the illusion of having longer legs, select a one-piece bikini or swimsuit with high-cut legs.

*Pear shape: in case you have to flatten your shape, wear a tank top with bottoms in dark or subdued colours.

*Large bust: bikini suits now come in all sizes, some with a hidden underwire which will provide good support. You should opt for a top cut straight across that has wide set straps. Small bust: to add a subtle cleavage wear a bikini top that has triangle-shaped cups with a tie-front.

*Plus size: not only black but deep blues and reds have a minimizing effect on the figure. Swimsuits with good fitting and high lycra/spandex percentage will be better. Flabby Stomach: go for a loose tankini.

4. Swimsuits look better under natural light than fluorescent lights which can sometimes be found in change rooms..

5. Buy whatever is comfortable and fits well.

Helpful tips:

Find out all the helpful and relevant information you can either from swimsuit stores online & offline. Be honest with yourself about your size. If you need a larger size do not hesitate. It's better to go for larger size than be busting out of a swimsuit that is just too small for you. If you are taller than 5'7" you may also need to go a size up to get the length in the torso.
